Using alternative user accounts on campus (bypassing Single Sign-on using EduRoam)
Purpose
The University's primary WiFi network for staff is "AUBCOBO" – which assists you in supporting single sign-on (SSO) to many systems (it recognises who you are, based on the login to your AUB computer).
However, to be able to use alternative user accounts, you need to bypass the automatic sign-in to online services on campus (which applies your own user credentials – email/password), to then be able to use an alternative user account - such as the WISEflow Team Assessor, External Examiner or Test Student accounts.
Process
To be able to log in with an alternative user account (using a web browser), you need to:
- Switch to an alternative WiFi network
- Use an Incognito/Private browser window
Stage 1 (switching WiFi networks)
Mac users
- Under the WiFi/Network options (top-right), change from AUBCOBO to EduRoam

- In the dialogue box that appears, untick the ‘Remember this network’ option and sign in using the alternative user login (email/password)
Windows users
- Under the WiFi/Network options (bottom-right), change from AUBCOBO to EduRoam

- In the dialogue box that appears, untick the ‘Use my Windows user account’ option and sign in using the alternative user login (email/password)
Stage 2: (using a Incognito/Private browser window)
Open your browser of choice, then:
Firefox
File > New Private Window
Chrome
... > New Incognito Window*
Safari
File > New Private Window
Edge
... > New InPrivate Window*
* You can find the '...' button/menu in the top right of the browser
