NEW STAFF - How to Release Print
How to Release Print
To use Release Print you will need to have your AUB staff ID Card ready. You can also log in with your usual AUB credentials but your ID Card is a much easier method.
The Release Print option allows you to send your printing to a central queue and print it at a number of printers around the AUB campus without having to choose that printer specifically.
After sending the document to the Printer you have two hours to print and collect it from the printer. After this time any stored jobs will be deleted.
The AUB Library have a Printer Hub where the main bulk of Release printers are located, but they are also located around the campus in most department areas.
Guide on how to use Release Printing:
1. Send your document to the Release Printer queue (This will be available in the list of printers on all Staff Machines, named Release Print Staff).
2. Visit a Release Printer with your ID Card. You will see a login screen.

3. Place your card on the Card Reader to the left of the control panel (as shown below) and the printer will log you in.

3. Alternatively, you can log into the printer with your AUB email address (e.g. jsmith@aub.ac.uk) and usual password.
4. Click on 'Print Release' (as shown below).

5. Tick the document(s) you wish to print, which will be showing in the document window and click on ‘Print’ as shown below. This will print the document and delete it from your queue.

6. If you have multiple documents in your queue, you can select which to print now and which to leave for later (remembering the two-hour limit).
7. Collect your output from the printer.
8. Choose Logout to exit out of the printer. You can also place your ID card on the reader again.
If your print job doesn't come out, please refer to this guide for further troubleshooting.
