NEW STAFF - My View (Staff Holiday and Sickness)

Select the myView Tile

1.1 Signing In
You will log on to
MyView using your AUB login credentials. This will be your username and password that use to login to the Staff
Domain.

2. Personal Details

This facility allows you to review your contact and personal details, including your address, name and telephone numbers, and make and submit any changes. These details are saved on the HR database so it is essential they are correct. Follow the instructions on the screen to make any changes ensuring you submit changes when you are happy with them. If you use the save button it will save the changes as you see them but will not change them on the HR database.
3. Holiday
The Holiday section provides you with the facility
to book/request holiday.

The first screen you will be presented with is in
three parts:
a. A grid view of your Holiday planner

Any days that are already booked against your
record (whether holiday, Bank/Public Holiday or AUB Closure Day) will be
highlighted in the grid. If you hover
your mouse over the highlighted dates/days the dates will be displayed.
b. A history of previous holiday requests

c.Your holiday entitlement for the current holiday year. Brought Forward
(B/F), Entitlement (Ent), Extra Days (Ext), Days Taken (Tkn) & Remaining
Holiday (Rem).

*Please note that full time staff holiday
entitlement is managed and displayed in days. Part-Time staff holiday entitlement is managed and displayed in hours.
3.1 Submitting a holiday request - Full Time Staff
In order to request your own holiday, click on the [Request Holiday] link in the bottom right of the screen. You will be presented with the following screen:

From this screen, select:
1. Type = Annual Leave. Bank Holidays and Closure Days have already been booked by HR and will be displayed in your holiday planner.
2. Duration = Single Day or Date Range
3. Date = For Single Day, enter the day for your holiday, select Full Day or AM/PM Only
For Date Range, enter the From Date and To Date for your holiday and select Full Day or PM/AM Only relating to the first and last day of your holiday.

Click on the [Submit] link in the bottom right of the screen. This will submit your holiday request to your Line Manager for their approval.
3.2 Cancelling a holiday request - Full Time Staff
Within holiday history select the holiday period you wish to cancel by clicking on the form number.

From the new pop up window select cancel holiday request at the bottom right of the screen, a message will appear asking if you are sure. If you are then click ok and your request will be submitted to your Line Manager for their approval

Please note, you can only cancel holiday after it has been authorised by your line manager. If the request is still pending you will need to wait until the holiday has been authorised and then complete the steps above (the status can be checked in your holiday history).
3.3 Submitting a holiday request - Part Time Staff
In order to request your own holiday, click on the [Request Holiday] link in the bottom right of the screen.
You will be presented with the following screen:
From this screen, select:
1. Type = Annual Leave. Bank Holidays and Closure Days have already been booked by HR and will be displayed in your holiday planner. Please note that only working days according to your work pattern will have been taken off your holiday entitlement even if other days when you are not working are displayed in the planner as bank holiday or closure day.
2. Duration = Single Day or Date Range
3. Date = To explain how to complete this field we illustrate this with an example work pattern. The work pattern is as follows:
Monday – 08:30 – 14:30
Tuesday – 08:30 -12:30 13:30 -17:00
Friday – 12:30 – 16:30
To book a ‘Single Day’ on a Monday enter the date for your holiday, input Start Time (‘From’) 8:30 and End Time (‘To’) 14:30.To book a ‘Single Day’ on a Tuesday enter the date for your holiday, input Start Time (‘From’) 8:30 and End Time (‘To’) 17:00.To book a ‘Single Day’ On a Friday enter the date for your holiday, input Start Time (‘From’) 12:30 and End Time (‘To’) 16:30.
To book part of a ‘Single Day’ enter the date for your holiday, and then enter the time your holiday will start (‘From’) and the time your holiday will end (‘To’). For example if you wanted to book 2 hours on Monday at the end of your work pattern the From time would be 12:30 the End time would be 14:30, if you wanted to book 6 hours at the beginning of your work pattern on a Tuesday the From time would be 08:30 the end time would be 15:30.
To book a ‘Date Range’ for a full week enter the date for your holiday, input Start Time (‘From’) 8:30 (Monday start time) and End Time (‘To’) 16:30 (Friday end time).
For half days, full days and date ranges you must make sure the start time and end time is in line with your working pattern or the wrong number of hours will be deducted from your entitlement. If you are unsure what working pattern is held on the HR database please contact HR.
Click on the [Submit] link in the bottom right of the screen. This will submit your holiday request to your Line Manager for their approval.
3.4 Cancelling a holiday request - Part Time Staff
- Within holiday history select the holiday period you wish to cancel by clicking on the form number.
- Select cancel holiday request at the bottom right of the screen, a message will appear asking if you are sure. If you are then click ok and your request will be submitted to your Line Manager for their approval.
Please note, you can only cancel holiday after it has been authorised by your line manager. If the request is still pending you will need to wait until the holiday has been authorised and then complete the steps above (the status can be checked holiday history).
